Does your child get enough Vitamin D? At least 40 percent don’t, a recent study found. The American Academy of Pediatrics has doubled the daily amount it recommends for children and adolescents in recent years from 200 IU (International Units) to 400 IU. Outdoor playtime on a swing set, soaking up some sunshine (with sunscreen, of course), will help your child get there naturally. Outdoor swing sets, with kids slides and playhouses can help kids get vitamin D, which plays a role in the fight against diabetes and cancer. Here’s the AAP report: http://tinyurl.com/49lo5xd
